Robert D. Scheirer scrapbook, 1915-1919.

This collection consists of pages from a scrapbook created by Robert D. Scheirer, Sr. while a student at Penn State. There are photographs of the Track House, students with the stolen bell "clanger," 1919 baseball team and football teams, track athletes competing in 1917, a 1915 cross country meet, and a side line pass for the meet.

Robert D. Scheirer, of Allentown, Pennsylvania, was born on June 23, 1899. He received his Bachelor and Master of Science degrees in civil engineering from Pennsylvania State College. He took a leave of absence as a professor at Penn State during World War II when he served as a commander in the Civil Engineering Corps of the U.S. Navy. He taught various engineering subjects in the civil engineering department for thirty-eight years. He retired in 1960 at the rank of professor emeritus of civil ...
